Before you install

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
Claude Desktop installed (this is a Claude Desktop MCP server)
A beta license key — free, issued on our Discord
Internet connection for first start (license validation; 7-day offline grace after that)

Get your key

The beta is free but keyed. Join the Discord, head to #mcp-beta-downloads, and run /claim — the bot replies privately with your key. One key per Discord account; the same command re-shows your key if you lose it.

Run the installer

No admin rights needed — it installs per-user.

Accept the license agreement and paste your key when asked

You can skip the key and add it later, but the server won't start without one.

Restart Claude Desktop fully

Quit it from the system tray, then relaunch. dcs-mcp registers itself automatically.

Start a chat and build a mission

Caucasus terrain is included; grab more terrains anytime from Start Menu → dcs-mcp Terrain Manager.

Heads-up

Windows SmartScreen may warn on first run ("Windows protected your PC"). Click More info → Run anyway. Beta builds are new binaries without download history; this fades as the beta matures.
The first server start is the slow one — later starts are fast.
